Bio:
Pianist David Egan has written songs for Grammy winning albums by Irma Thomas and Etta James, as well as for Grammy nominated albums by Percy Sledge, Solomon Burke, Marcia Ball and John Mayall. Other writing credits include Tab Benoit, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Johnny Adams, and Nathan Williams and the Zydeco Cha-Cha's. Many music journalists have declared David Egan the best at interpreting his own timeless songs. He is currently touring behind his second solo release, "You Don't Know Your Mind". With his band, David Egan and the Twenty Years of Trouble, he has been a regular at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival for several years. Egan is also a member of Lil' Band O' Gold, an allstar swamp pop ensemble also featuring swamp pop Godfather Warren Storm, swamp guitarist C.C. Adcock and Steve Riley of the Mamou Playboys. Egan's music is featured prominently in the LBOG documentary, "The Promised Land: A Swamp Pop Journey", as well as the accompanying audio CD. David has been a band member/session pianist for A-Train, File', Beausoleil, Jo-El Sonnier, Canray Fonetenot, Hadley Castille, Cajun Allstars, and legendary songwriter Bobby Charles. He is a recipient of the Louisiana Division of the Arts Fellowship, Louisiana's highest juried arts honor. He serves on numerous songwriter panels, and on the NARAS Board of Governors, Memphis Chapter. He is also a selected member of the Southern Artists Federation. David lives in Lafayette, LA with Rhonda and Reuben, his wife and son.
