What's New In v2.0

Greetings and welcome to the Jazz and Heritage Talent Exchange v2.0. We’ve spent almost a year redesigning the site to make it more automated and useful for our Users. We thought we’d take this opportunity to highlight the major changes in v2.0. If you are an artist from v1.0 and you've received an email asking to create your account, or you are totally new to the Jazz and Heritage Talent Exchange, please view this tutorial to help you get started http://vimeo.com/8707830 User Accounts We’ve developed three types of User accounts to reflect the core goals of the Talent Exchange; they are: Artist Music Supervisor Talent Buyer Creating an account is quite simple.

As an Artist, once you’ve created your account you can upload pictures, video, songs, upcoming performances, and contact information. And best of all, you can constantly manage and update your Artist page without having to go through Administrator. As a Music Supervisor or a Talent Buyer, after setting up your account you can browse and/or search through the ever-growing talent pool of Louisiana artists. You also can create and save playlists of songs/artists to come back to later. And of course, we provide you with all the relevant licensing and booking information right there on the site! Messaging We’ve developed an internal messaging system that allows Music Supervisors and Talent Buyers to contact Artists and their licensing/booking representatives directly through the site. Easily Find What You’re Looking For on the Homepage With the new Search and Browse features on the homepage, it is now easier than ever to quickly find an Artist or Song that fits your needs. The Search feature allows Users to isolate Songs by genre, artist, title, mood, and tempo, but also offers multi-variable sorting of the results. In addition, Users can search Upcoming Performances by genre, artist, or region. If you’re just looking to peruse what the site has to offer, use the new Browse feature. It allows Users to quickly tab through all the Songs on the site by genre, mood, tempo, artist, title, and key signature. You can also browse to instantly see which Artists have upcoming performances. Homepage Artists We wanted to give the site a sense of connectedness and one of the ways we did this was by showing off some of our local Louisiana talent right on the homepage. If you’re interested in what we’re listening to these days check out the Featured Artist. The Popular Artist designation goes to the Artist who’s receiving the most traffic to their individual page and is updated in real time. Finally, every new artist gets a little bit of face time on the homepage under the New Artist designation.
